Question Running Linux on SSD's

I've always used Linux on platter drives be-it SCSI, SAS, SATA, or PATA. I've always loaded Linux directly onto the drive partition and been good to go but now SSD disks are relatively affordable & I ended up getting two of these drives. I've not installed anything on them yet & would like to know what I should know about installing Linux on a SSD? Anything I need to do or enable / compile? Does Linux 3.4+ kernel support TRIM like Microsoft does?

Thanks for any info!

Hi.

I can see you're running Debian. There's Debian wiki on setting up SSDs. Trim has been supported for some time now. Basically, you just need make sure you align the partitions appropriately and add a few options in /etc/fstab.
