rtc_cmos error

Lately, I get the following error during startup:

dmesg|grep rtc

Code:

rtc_cmos 00:06: rtc core: registered rtc_cmos as rtc0

rtc_cmos: probe of 00:06 failed with error -16

Google and Linuxquestions searches gave no hits. Any ideas?

are you having problems accessing your hardware clock?

However, I have irregularly the problem that my system boots up with completely screwed system time (off by months). I will try again if that happens.
