I am trying to install RH9 on P5AD2 Prem. with ICH6R RAID0 enabled.
I have two WD identical Raptor drives configured in BIOS as RAID 0
both drives are recognized.
RH9 installation does not recognize them.
Do I need a driver for ICH6R controller?
Do I need to recompile RH9 kernel?
I have another 2.4.18 RH box that I can use for development.
Gee, redhat 9 not recognizing SATA drives... go figure... what a shocker that is!
Stop using a discontinued, unsupported, outdated distro, and get a real distro, which was written "after" the industry decided to start shipping SATA drives and you might stand a chance of having them recognized.
I use Suse 9.1 upgraded to kernel 2.6.8 (latest mantel kernel-of-the-day) and it recognizes all my 8 SATA drives on my ASUS P5GD2 mobo, I have seven of them in sw raid 5+1 and it works like a charm !
