Retrieve data from an old raid disk to a new disk


Hi

I have an old raid disk that doesn't work well.
and i want recover all data from the old raid disk to the new one .
any idea on how to do this?

I am using SME server 8 SATA.

No idea, since you don't provide any details. Like what KIND of RAID that disk was used in, hardware or software RAID, operating system you're using, file system of the RAID array, or even what kind of drive it is (SATA? IDE? ???)

If you can plug it in to whatever system you had it in, and read it, then just copy the information off, which is the most obvious/easiest way. Otherwise, if it was one drive in a RAID5 array, you are going to have problems, since you're missing all the other stripes from the array.
