Resolutions on 32 inch lcd tv.

Hi. I got a new computer recently and I am using dvi to hdmi cable to use my 32 inch Toshiba Regza tv as my monitor. It came with Windows XP on it and I plan to dual boot it but put in knoppix to see if everything went ok. As far as resolutions go i can only set it to 640x480. Is that just with knoppix or am I going to have that same issue when I install linux? (planning on FC7) Also what is the best way to see that linux detects both of my video cards? And does linux support SLI mode? Probably need to recompile a kernel for that right? Thanks for any replies in advance.
