Replacing a Laptop graphics card

Hi

My laptop has one of those nasty SIS650 integrated boards in - while I can run X sessions without any problem, there's no accelerated graphics support, so games are out.

I am curious to know if it's possible to add a new card (an Nvida card perhaps) to improve things, or am I really looking at a new laptop?

thanks, L

I'm affraid you'll have to get a new laptop, the majority of laptops have the graphics cards integrated onto the motherboard.

I'll have to agree with okmyx. Apart from perhaps adding more RAM or replacing the hard drive, most laptops aren't really intended to be opened up, and replacing an integrated video chip with another is not something that I would consider to be a practical option. -- J.W.
