Unhappy Removing Camera/Mass storage

Newbie here. I connected a usb camera/mass storage device and it installed perfectly, asked me to format it and it was good. It installed it as /dev/sda1, I'm guessing it sees it as a hard drive. Since I installed it, it has been required to be connected or I could not boot up. Now, eventhough it is connected, Linux tries to boot but "drops to shell" and says filesystem error can't open /dev/sda1 and preventing me from booting, telling me to press ctrl+d to continue as normal (which just fails and reboots) or to type my root pass. As root, I type startx and it fails, fatal error. For now, I would just like to uninstall this device and get my Linux booting up again.

EDIT: Filesystem check always fails on /dev/sda1
Already tried unplugging it and rebooting.

EDIT: Mandrake 10 BTW

Hi.

Log in as root, and edit /etc/fstab to remove the line that has /dev/sda1 in it.

You should be able to boot normally again.
