Don't really know whether I should put this in Hardware or Software, so I just plumped for this one.
OK, here's the long and short of it:
I am building a computer from spare parts that I have lying around. It's got an ATI AIWP (not 128 version) on AGP bus. It has TV-out, which works an absolute treat for the text console, but I want to have an X session runing. Since I have the ability to have this computer use a TV, I'm gonna use it! I've tried all the options I can find in my XF86Config file, but I can't seem to get things to work.
So, does anyone know what options/parameters/refresh rates and all that gubbins I would need to give so that I can have X running on my TV?
Oh, yeah. Ultimately I hope that I can use this machine as DVD/HIFI box. Just a little project to tide me over 'til I have something better to do.

I have a Pal Tv that goes only to 50Hz. I can get tvout working until i get the xwindos booting. From that point on no more Tv out only horizontal lines and colors flasing on TV.
I got TV out working by using ATI's driver and it's fglrxconfig program to configure it. You'll need to select clone mode in fglrxconfig setup. This will be followed by 10 options for setting up primary and secondary displays. This will get TVout working, but it will still only play DVDs on the primary monitor.
