I am running Lenny on a Dell Lattitude laptop. I would like to vew the screen on a larger TV screen. The function keys Fn + F5 or Fn + F7 have no effect !!

Any ideas would be much appreciated

Have you checked your bios to see if this function is turned on?

I have a dell D600 that I do that with at work and it can be a little flaky sometimes. Plug it in to the monitor before you boot. You should see a mirrored output on both the laptop and the monitor. Have you had this tv working with linux before? There is a possibility that the issue is with X connecting to you tv and not a switching issue.
