Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

RedHat video not coming back after suspend/hibernation

When I resume from a standby/suspend, the monitor does not come back. The computer itself looks like its all woken up since all the power lights are on, I can toggle caps lock, and it just seems ready. But the monitor light stays orange for power saver mode, so it doesn't detect any video after resuming. I read a little about this and it seems that RHEL5 isn't supposed to have problems resuming from suspend.

I can't even get the thing to go into hibernation. The last time I tried the screen flashed for a while then came up with a black screen with a mouse pointer and stayed that way until I shut the thing down forcefully.

FYI: I have a Dell Precision T3400, that came preinstalled with RHEL5.

Anyone know anything about either of these problems?
