RedHat 9 won't detect soundcard

Hi all! I've just install RH9 on my Compaq Deskpro, everything is run smoothly except the RH9 won't detect my sound card (Onboard ISA ES1869), I recieved this message after I logged in:

Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device /dev/dsp can't be opened (No such device)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.

What's wrong? Do I need a correct driver? Where can I get the driver for it and how to install the driver?

Thanx in advance for anyone who help me.

you should run alsaconf as root to try and detect your card.
