redhat 9 installatio: HD maxtor 6y080m0 device is not recognized

i m trying to intsall red hat 9 on Maxtor 6Y080M0 80GB 7200RPM SATA 8mb, booting from cd rom,but the drive is not rcognized.Someone can Help me? I don't know how to solve the problem, i have tried installation from HD, but the problem is the same.

First look at your BIOS, is the hard disk a bootable device in the BIOS boot order??
have you tried boot floppies........read the readme's on the redhat disk and make boot floppies .......

Yes, the hd is in the bios order (the order is
1) cd-rom
2) hd)
I've already tried to make a boot floppy, but i can't copy the file on the floppy, because the space si not enough.The disk is 1.44 Mb formatted, but the file bootdisk.iso is 1.47 Mb.
