I am preparing to setup RedHat 7.3 on a box that I am building and want to make sure everything is going to work. The only question I am being boggled by is regarding my RAID setup.

I am wanting to use the onboard RAID of my AT7MAX2 mainboard which is a High-Point 374, I am seeing lots of issues regarding this and wanted to see if anyone could give or point me to a clear explanation of setting up RedHat 7.3 to install to this RAID, I will be using two Western Digital 120GB HDD with 8MB caches each on their own channel setup as mirrored.

If it is not possible or a tremendous headache (i.e. unstable), what is an alternative controller with support by 7.3?

Its a headache, its supported, and its stable. Rh 7.3 uses the 2.4.18 kernel, about a year and a half old now, a lot older then the HPT374. There are drivers as well as directions on how to bootstrap an install on the highpoint site itself.

Unfortunately, due to the slowdown in the stable kernel development tree, the only in-kernel supported cards are all pretty old, ATA100 and thereabouts. This really is one of the best cards for the job too. Post back if you have any questions or need a link to the drivers at highpoint.
