Hi all:
I'm just trying to install Linux on 2 different computers:
First one:
MB: TYAN Thunder i7501
HD: 2xSeagate 160G SATA both connected to Promise FastTrack S150 TX4
HD: External HD cabinet connected across LSI U160
Second one:
MB: Asus P4P800SE
HD: 1xSeagate 80GB SATA on MB
HD: 2xSeagate 160G SATA on FastTrack S150 TX4
On both of them I've experienced problems installing RH9 because Promise driver isn't recognized at install time.
I've followed
strictly all steps that Promise tells in Readme driver, included on 2_ft3xx-rhb18.zip file from Promise's web site, but installer tells me that any driver is found at this floppy.
On first one I would like to define a mirror on both SATA drives to boot the box from them.
On second one the boot drive will be the smaller one and the other two ones will be the data storage on mirror too.
Does anyone has any experience on similar systems?
Is it normal that SATA drives appears as SCSI drives (/dev/sd
x)?
Any help will be appreciated.
