RED HAT 9 Floppy Help!

I have a feeling that RED HAT 9 doesn't recognize my floppy disk because when I right click the desktop and then go to disk my floppy isn't their. I have tried different mount commands also. And I have tried many suggestions on redhat.com . So I think The floppy needs installed or configured any suggestions? I have only had linux for about 3 hours now lol(:newbie: ) Thanks for the help

The floppy device is usually /dev/fd0. You can not access it until you mount it to a folder. It will not be on your desktop unless Red Hat automatiically put it there. If you're using kde, right-click the desktop, and click 'New' in the menu that pops up. Then click 'New Floppy Device', and specify /dev/fd0 as the device. The new icon that this creates will not work unless there is an entry for the /dev/fd0 in the /etc/fstab file. Open the file using a text editor, and make sure there is a line for /dev/fd0 in there.
