Recorder (Panasonic RR-US430) won't connect usb
I just got a Panasonic RR-US430 digital voice recorder; since it claimed USB capability I figured it would work OK with Linux. Not so. Linux doesn't recognize that the device is connected; there's no sign of it in dmesg. Panasonic's RR-US450 and RR-US470 models seem to be similar.
I'm running Mepis 7.0, have no problem with usb for other devices including printer, mp3 player, flash drives, cameras. These last three devices appear as icons on my desktop, but there's no sign of the recorder. Nor do I see it with mount. lsusb shows Bus 002 Device 003: ID 04da:2390 Panasonic (Matsushita)The first line must be the recorder; it goes away when I disconnect it. Panasonic do supply a Windows program that is supposed to work with this unit, but it requires activex which I understand doesn't work with wine. Any suggestions for making this thing work with linux? Thanks. |
