recommended webcam for webserver

Hey all,
Looking for a recommendation for a webcam under linux that meets the following criteria:

* 640x480 in 30fps or more.
* Modules that work and are relatively straight forward to set up (ie, not totally distribution or kernel version dependant)
* Not real expensive and relatively easy to find on consumer market.

I have perused the following resource: http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/showdevcat.php?id=9
(as well as google of course)

At the moment im looking at a cam is one of the more common phillips models such as the PCVC* such as the 740K.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

Recently i bought Creative Live!Ultra for my research. And this webcam is awesome. If you want real picture quality and smoothness in the video, then it is for you. It is a little bit pricy comparing other webcams in the market.But not at all comparing to its quality. It's using full performance of USB 2.0.And you can compare it when you will use it in both USB 2.0 and USB 1.1.

Anyway,you can't get 30 fps all the time. Because in dark places all the webcams show 5/7 fps atmost.

One thing i want to remind you. That is you must to have pentium 2.8 GHz or higher to get its real performance.

And I still didn't tested it in Linux.So,I can't tell you about its driver. And i didn't get any linux driver with the package. So better check it. And please let me know if you get any driver for it in linux.

I'll second that recommendation. I've been f$*&ing around with the Veo Stingray and finally decided to buy a cam that Just Works™ the Creative webcam Live! does just that. It worked right outta the box.

This is Ubuntu Linux Hoary btw.
