Recommendations for Linux compatible PCI & PCIe expansion cards
Doing a custom-build, and in process of picking between eight legacy motherboards. None are perfect. Each will require expansion cards to add one or more of the following:
2. USB 2.0
Top priority is that the cards 'just works' with Linux (i.e. I'm a newbie, and do not want to fuss with it to make it functional, recompile kernel, etc.). I'll be trialing various legacy distros, mostly Ubuntu & Debian-based...all having kernel 2.6.29 (or prior). If you need more info, just ask.
I'm mostly looking for user-recommendations of brands/model numbers of cards they have (or had), that worked without problem...so I can track them down.
