I appologize right now for my blindness to the Linux world.
My problem is that i burned Auditor Security Collection LIVE CD which runs a modified version of Kanotix Linux, but it doesnt find my Realtek RTL8180 card. I am very new to linux and would have no idea on how to fix this. Like if i even got a correct driver (if thats what i need) i dont know how i would get it on there because i dont even kno how to work a cd if i pop it into the drive or plug a usb mem stick in. I've been searching all day for a solution and no luck yet, even though i see people with similar problems. Thx for the help
Well actually the distro you mention is not based on Kanotix it is based on Knoppix (world of difference). The Realtek RTL8180 works out of the box w/ Kanotix and ndiswrapper.
My bad, sry i misread what it said. Any ideas on how to fix it? I tired entering all these commands: iwconfig wlan0 mode managed, iwconfig wlan0 essid "linksys", iwconfig wlan0 up, pump -1 wlan0, dhclient wlan0 start-wlanconfig, and none of em work. also i tried menu--->settings--->wlan card config. that had that error of no card installed. Im very lost on how to get this working....

Yep, i found out that information about a different post thx though. But now i need to find a say to put that on it. Ive tried putting it on a memory stick and that wouldnt load up, then i tried putting it on a cd and pop that in , but that didnt pop up.
I guess my question is how do you put files onto linux/knoppix?
BTW I have the program called Microsoft Virtual PC which lets you run windows in the background, then in a different window, run linux. Its really neat. But i cant get it so i can drag files from windows to linux. not sure exactly how.

You can easily download the windows driver to ramdisk or to a USB stick.
Simply mount the USB stick, save your driver to it, cd into the USB stick mount point (or provide the complete path to the driver) and run ndiswrapper from there.

Sorry, no clue about M$vpc. I try to give them as little money as possible. You paid for the software right? If so you deserve some kind of technical support. Surely there is a forum or a so-called 'Knowledge-base" that you can reference. Check the FAQ's? That's probably one of the most popular questions.
Yea last night for bout an hour i was trying to mount my usb stick by surfin the net in a bajillion different places and i couldnt figure out exactly how to access/mount the stick. So if you kno how to mount a usb stick please say it here so i can try it. Also is there any specific usb port where you need to put it in? like one that comes straigt out of the motherboard, one that i have that is an extension off of it (like a high speed one). etc.
