Question Realtek 8101E - integrated - CentOS5 doesn't recognize it.

I have a K9AGM2-L motherboard with a Realtek 8101E nic integrated. The motherboard manufacturer's website has drivers for XP/2000/Vista, but not Linux (surprise, surprise, surprise).

Reaktek appears to inticate that the 810x and 8139 series chips are compatible, but I can't seem to get CentOS to initalize the integratec nic using the 8139 driver.

So I've been hunting for a driver for the 8101E, and can't seem to find it.

Can anyone here help me get it working?

I'm running CentOS5.1 on the machine, and this is the only piece of hardware that isn't working that I can tell.

Google search lead me to this webpage: http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/In...S/ch06s04.html

Here's the section regarding sound:
----
6.4.8. Problems with Sound Configuration

If, for some reason, you do not hear sound and know that you do have a sound card installed, you can run the Sound Card Configuration Tool (system-config-soundcard) utility.

To use the Sound Card Configuration Tool, choose Main Menu => System => Administration => Soundcard Detection in GNOME, or Main Menu => Administration => Soundcard Detection in KDE. A small text box pops up prompting you for your root password.

You can also type the system-config-soundcard command at a shell prompt to launch the Sound Card Configuration Tool. If you are not root, it prompts you for the root password to continue.

If the Sound Card Configuration Tool does not work (if the sample does not play and you still do not have audio sounds), it is likely that your sound card is not yet supported in Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
----

Hope this helps

snipped.....
The Realtek 8101E nic is the LAN adapter, perhaps I wasn't clear on that, I'm sorry.

I'm not concerned about audio, as this machine will be used for web and database server duties, so I need to get the LAN adapter working, and then it's on to getting the software configured and running.

I do appreciate your input though!
