Read unreadable usb drive

I've a LaCie usb drive that seems broken. Not detected by nautilus or gparted, nothing at /dev/sdbX but still doing noise when I plug it.

I guess it's an hardware problem but I want to be sure.
Do you know some tricks to try to rescue my disk (make a final backup) ?

If you unscrew the enclosure, remove the HDD and try it in another enclosure you will find out if the LaCie hardware is broken, or the HDD is. Then you will know what to do next.
