Rapid Help With Laptop Sound Please!
 

Hi,

I'm taking a laptop on holiday with me tomorrow, a toshiba satellite 1800-700 with ali m5451 sound, running cobind 0.2 (which is based almost entirely on fedora core 1).

Sound is via OSS, and all sound seems very overdriven (unless at a very low volume).

It's not the laptop speakers as they were fine under windows XP.

Anyone got any ideas? Is there an OSS Mixer app i can fiddle with?

proudclod; previuos post have recommended alsa for FC. repost at FC or software.

Ah well, too late :) I guessed it was more a general OSS problem, so I posted here :)
