Question RAM upgrade to 1GB

Hi,
I want to upgrade my RAM from 256 MB 400MHz DDR1 (hynix) to 1GB DDR1. Do the both will work together or i would have to use 1GB alone? Im having ASUS K8V- VM motherboard. Will it be compatible with the 1GB RAM

You should be able to run 1 x 256MB and 1 x 1GB sticks. There are cases where the motherboard will have issues with 2 (or more) different size/speed RAM sticks, but its not commmon.

See the owners manual for the correct ram selections. Second best is the ram configurator web sites.
