going to check it out, not sure if I'll end up doing it, for an old system it works pretty flawlessly, if i can install the new processor and make it even faster for 50 bucks then i might just call it a win and leave it at that.

I don't think changing the processor will have any effect on the clock speed of the RAM. I can't say they are not related, because they are, but you would still need to overclock the RAM even with a new processor.
