RAID Recommendation

Hello guys, I'm building a raid for davinci resolve (12 disks on an areca raid card) and I would like to know what would be the best setting for being the media drive for davinci.

Any recommendation on sector size, block size, filesystem (xfs? It is a linux box)

Hi

Assuming they are all the same size disks and you using hot swap for performance (Raid 5 + hot swap) there is not much else to do. To get the best performance needs testing and you wont how well it performs until it's built.

Thank you for your answer,

My plan was to do a 50 raid, with 3 raid 5 stripes (4 disks each). Now with a stripe size of 128k. What I´m not a 100% sure is the file system. What I knew is that xfs was a must for video software, but I was reading reviews about how good is ext4 compared to xfs, ending winner in most if not all the test.

Do you have any experience with these two filesystems?
