Greetings,
I am trying to do a dual boot Win98SE + Mandrake 8.2 on my AMD Athlon 900Mhz machine that uses the Asus A7V motherboard that comes with the Promise RAID controller.
I run 2x30GB ATA100 HDDs as Master and Slave on the first RAID bus, a CDROM (Master) on my Primary IDE and a CDRW (Master) on my Secondary IDE. Running on 512MB PC133 ram. I used Mandrake's partition software to resize the FAT32 partition on the master HDD into 20GB and reserved 10GB for my Linux installation.
Installation was smooth and easy and Linux boots fine but not for Win98SE. The screen freezes seconds after bootup begins. I tried to play around lilo.conf but nothing works. Then I plugged out my second HDD (Slave) and the whole things boots fine. I tried attaching the second HDD as a IDE device and the whole thing boots fine too but Win98SE would not read the second drive (alot of harddisk activity however).
I can't seem to find any resource for this sort of problem and wonder if anyone else has come across the same problem and may be able to give me some advice. It's a work PC and I need the Win98SE for Macromedia software.

Any sort of advice is greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Patrick
