Don't use the so called raid capabilities of the B110i controller. I struggled a long time with it, got it working but wasn't happy with it. No I know why these controllers are called FRAID or 'Fake Raid'. It highly depends on the driver and after a system update you end up with a lot of individual drives losing the raid system.
As most raid calculations are not done on the controller but on your CPU you might better use software raid.
I'm trying to install a HP proliant ML150 G6 with a smart arry b110i (RAID1). (centos 5.4)
I make the usb key driver disk.
I load the drivers correctly but when I must select the disk installation, there is no media to select.
has somebody a solution please?

thanks a lot.
Since you read part of this thread, did you read the part where you have to go into the controller BIOS, and make the array FIRST, before installation??
And don't hijack someone elses thread...open your own thread, for your own question.
I followed your recomendations for a installation of CentOS 5.5 x86_64 in a HP ML150 G6 with a smart array b110i, with 4 hard disk drives configured in RAID1+0. I firts configure the array in the bios, i write the image to a USB flash disk with dd if=hpahcisr-1.2.1-3.rhel5.x86_64.dd of=/dev/sdb, i run the installer with the parameter boot: linux dd. But the installer don't find the array to begin create partitions.
Sorry for my English, it may not be the desired solution, but the pose, you might use to someone. To install Debian on a HP ML110 G6, I went into Setup and configured the sata disk driver as compatible. Debian installed without problems. I hope you find it useful.
