ROMPaq for HP Notebook System BIOS - FreeDOS Bootable Media VERSION: F.0F
TITLE: ROMPaq for HP Notebook System BIOS - FreeDOS Bootable Media
VERSION: F.0F
DESCRIPTION:
This package enables the creation of a bootable CD or USB key that can be used to locally restore or upgrade the System BIOS in the supported notebook/laptop models with a 68PCU or 68PCD Family ROM.
NOTE: If using a USB key, insert ONLY the USB key that will be used to format and create the bootable BIOS upgrade USB media. Remove all unused USB keys and flash drives from the notebook/laptop.
NOTE: To determine the ROM family and ROM date, press F10 on the target
notebook/laptop during startup to run the Setup Utility, and then view File/System Information.
Generally it isn't a great idea to flash bios unless the change log for it has a direct relationship to your problem. Don't do it just because....ever. As you can see it uses FreeDOS so you don't have to mess with linux.
Sounds like they offer a way to make a flash dive.
If you wish to use a usb stick or usb flash drive then consider trying Rufus maybe if official way doesn't work. It may be possible to use ultimate boot cd also on a flash drive.
