Help with the following problem would be much appreciated:
I boot red hat 7.3-linux from cd-drive and everything goes fine except the HD is not detected. All other hardware is correctly detected.(same problem with mandrake linux 8.2).
If it's being picked up in your BIOS (and correctly) then you may need to look more at the controller that is pushing the drive rather than the drive itself (assuming you've been able to use this drive in another OS or on another system. Ruling out that the drive itself is bad). Is it on a normal IDE channel, does your board have a built in RAID controller?
