Ps2 mod-chip suggestions

So I know that its been around forever and is probably not all that amazing, but I'm looking to turn my PS2 into a linux box without finding one of those rare expensive linux kits. I've got everything else that I need besides a modchip (in other words I've got a blank memory card and an internal hard drive that fits the network adapter) I also have BOTH the BlackRhino linux version (which is only a 43.2 mb file...is that right? that seems a bit small) and also the "Linux for PS2" disks (which together are like 2 gbs).
I'd prefer to use BlackRhino if at all possible. (don't ask me why, It just seems much easier to install without a linux kit and the name alone makes it sound cooler, is that so wrong?) So if I indeed don't have the right .iso can someone recommend where to get the correct one? Secondly, and the more important of the two questions, I have The SCPH-39001 version7 PS2 can anyone recommend a good modchip, hopefully under 30$ that doesn't require alot of careful soldering. I'm more worried about the cost than the amount of soldering required though.
Any and all help/suggestions appreciated THANKS! :)

-TheFunk

After a few hours of research I think I've finally found a good chip (Duo 3 Ultra), I'm not sure about it, but it looks like the best option right now, it does require a bit of soldering but it should *hopefully* get the job done. Will update after purchase and installation.
