Promise Ultra133 TX2 under Debian Sarge

i have been searching and all i have found was a previous kernal patch that is for alpha processors
running the 2.4.27-speakup kernal
lcpci shows it as
Unknown mass storage controller: Promise Technology, Inc. 20269 (rev 02)

anyone got any clues as to what i can do to get this running?
