I have yet to find anything that good around here in the dump. Maybe things are different in Denmark?

I can say that you would be wasting you time on upgrading the processor. At best you can move up a bit there should be second hand stores like charity stores that may offer a better solution. For the money I hate to say this but a new computer today is cheap for the amount of processing it can do. You'd be hard pressed to compete in time and money to get your old system up. Offer it to charity and take a tax deduction and get a new one.

Talking

thanks for the advice...but dumping it is not in my list of plans really. I found a 500 mHz Socket 7 AMD for $27. There are not computers for that price around here. As for time getting it up, it already is up and I am typing on it now. It runs fairly well on Puppy w/ 192mB of RAM. I really would just like to get it a little faster so TuxPaint and the other gCompris apps work a little smoother. It is for a very young child as a first intro to computing techniques. I was simply wondering if faster, compatible cpu's for it existed and I believe they do based on the responses. So, I am going that route. Thanks!
