Processor dead
 

Hey you guys, I have tested and come to the conclusion my processor is dead (i have 2). I am under warranty with AMD, but I'm afriad they won't RMA it because I currently have Arctic Silver 5 on the top of it.

Should I be concerned? If so, what should i do?

as far as I know, they will not refuse a proc because it has artic silver on it. so no, you shouldn't be concerned, as you are just trying to provide extra cooling for your processor with a known heat conductive product.

Send it back, the worst you'll get is the answer you don't wanna hear.

scrape it off

I'm not sure if using arctic silver would void any warranties with AMD. However, a small amount of rubbing alchohol and a cotton swab will certainly clean it off...
