At the moment, I am currently trying to get the above TV capture card to work correctly in Linux 18.104.22.168 on Ubuntu Linux. The card is in an Asus A78VX-X motherboard with a BFG NVidia GEFroce 6600 GT, with the binary drivers in use.
The card is detected as follows by the kernel:
bttv: driver version 0.9.17 loaded
bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture
bttv: Bt8xx card found (0).

A hardware scan from xawtv shows the following:
/dev/video0: OK [ -device /dev/video0 ]
type : v4l2
name : BT878 video (Leadtek WinFast 20
flags: overlay capture tuner
Yet when I run xawtv with the following rc file:
I get a green screen with tracking interference along the top. mplayer shows the same output, while tvtime shows a blue screen. mplayer also complains about lack of audio as well (but that comes later, after I get video working!).
Can anyone help me figure out why this isn't working? AFAIK the card is detected correctly - have I used the wrong tuner arg for the kernel module?
