Problems with Motherboard Asus M3N78 pro onboard sound

Hello,

i've installed debian lenny amd64 on my pc.
Everything seems to work, but when I play a sound, I only get scrambled noices from my boxes, pausing, or stopping a sound makes it go normal for a few microseconds and then scrambles again.

I'm trying to play my music with amarok.

Looked up the sound chipset, and it's the following:
#Asus M3N78 pro
Audio
# Audio Output: Sound card
# Audio codec: Realtek ALC1200
# Sound Output Mode: 7.1 channel surround
# Audio output compliant standards: High Definition Audio

googleling for answers has left me nowhere, so i'm hoping someone here can help me out

thx in advance

Hi,

What about running 'alsaconf' from the 'cli'? What do you get?

After running 'alsaconf' then run 'alsamixer' to setup. Then do a 'alsactl store'.
