i installed redhat 9.0 on my old PC, with not much luck, i could not set up my broadband so linux was not much use to me.

now i have a brand new box , which is disappointing....(with windows)

meat to run at 2800 MHz but it is 1400 i have no idea , my old PC was faster then this is ... the mouse will jump around, programs will not open , then all open at once .....

my hd doesn't have the usual lead (noob lol) i think thats ide :P?

but has a black small black plug, with an L shape connection??

in cmos it does not auto detect my hd , the only device is my dvd rw
but i can still get into windows normally?

in boot devices i can boot up on scsi and hd-0 ...
everywhere on my computer i keep seeing raid and in the manual ,sata ...
anyone got ne ideas what my hd is?

the hd wont even load in windows installer, i pressed f6 to load scsi/raid drivers, but it found 'none'.. and i come to the partition option it freezes on a blue screen , complaining about something or other.

on redhat i had the same problem, when entering the partion info it froze.

i want to have linux as my primary operating system , and have waited to get my newpc to do so, now i cant....

if anyone has anyinfo that could help me, like what my hd is?, how i can load on the red hat installer? anything else would be greatly appreciated
