Problems running accelerated fullscreen with nvidia drivers

I am having trouble getting the accelerated nvidia drivers working with gentoo. I currently am dual booting Red Hat 9 and gentoo. I have my 3d card working perfect with red hat, but I am having trouble with gentoo.

I have the following two problems. When I try to run fullscreen with opengl accelerated programs, they will either refuse to run fullscreen (if they are intelligent, like bzflag), or just hang, (if they are not, like neverwinter nights). Also, when I use ctrl alt + f key to get to a console, the cursor is messed up looking, but the console otherwise works. However, when I ctrl alt + f key back to X, X is hung, and I cannot switch to a console to kill it (ssh'ing and killing X still works though).

Originally, I installed the nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx modules from portage. I suspected they were faulty, so I used nvidia's installer, but I still have the same problems.

Here is my XF86Config from gentoo.

And here is my XF86Config from redhat,

Well, I fixed one problem. The weirdness with ctrl + alt + fkey was caused by enabling framebuffer support in the kernel. I disabled the framebuffer support, rebuilt the kernel, and then rebuilt the nvidia drivers, and all was well.

The fullscreen problems still continue.
