Problems installing more then two modems on RedHat 7.1!!
 

Hi,

I switched the Linux box to RedHat 7.1 which was previously set to
RedHat6.0. All the fous modems were working on this server. But on 7.1 only
two of the modems get detected.
The modems are internal modems having jumpers.
The settings are correct.
I have set S0 -> irq 4
S1 -> irq 3
S2 -> irq5
S3 -> irq7
But this is what dmesg shows

ttyS00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A
ttyS01 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A
ttyS02 at 0x03e8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A
ttyS03 at 0x03f8 (irq=3) is a 16550A

If I change the settings of ttyS0 or S1 then S2 and S3 start working.
I never had this problem on RedHat 6.0
Is this something related to the Kernel.

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Does any one have a solution for that!
I tried to put S0-> 4
S1->3
S2->4
S3->3
It worked but after one time dialin, it stops working.

I finally got them to work!!!
because I was using rc.serial which is not supported now in RedHat 7.1.
