Problems installing driver for intel winmodem

Hello all, I recently installed SUSE 10.0 and I can't seem to get the driver for my intel modem installed. Intel has drivers up to SUSE 9.2 so I downloaded them because I figured they would work with a later distro. But this seems not to be the case. When I try to install the driver it seems as if there are errors in the driver files themselves. I copied all the stuff from the konsole. I put them here. freewebs.com/dragonstein/installerror.html
my modem is an intel 537ep. Any advice would be most welcome. Thank you in advance.

You should try and compile the generic uncompiled driver. The one you tried is already compiled on a previous version of the Suse distribution and apparently not compatible with Suse 10.0.

Hi,

I am also trying to make 536ep
work on suse 10.1 and fedora 5.

Try the following website and
just follow the link on your chipset
for the uncompiled driver:

http://www.intel.com/design/modems/support/drivers.htm

I was at that site before and I tried nearly all the drivers there. Both compiled and uncompiled. My gcc version is 4.0.2 I have been told that it is a new version that is supposed to be backward compatible but it is not fully backward compatible yet. That is why I am getting these errors. I was told to look for rpm packages to install. But does my driver has an rpm package?
