Nov 20 15:27:09 server kernel: device-mapper: table: 253:6: adding target device sdd1 caused an alignment inconsistency: physical_block_size=4096, logical_block_size=512, alignment_offset=0, start=33553920
Nov 24 13:11:03 server kernel: sd 25:0:0:0: [sdd] Read Capacity(16) failed: Result: hostbyte=DID_ERROR driverbyte=DRIVER_OK
Nov 24 13:11:17 server kernel: sd 28:0:0:0: [sdd] Synchronize Cache(10) failed: Result: hostbyte=DID_ERROR driverbyte=DRIVER_OK
Nov 24 13:11:26 server kernel: sd 30:0:0:0: [sdd] Very big device. Trying to use READ CAPACITY(16).

Fedora 20 and Fedora 21 are BOTH unsupported

please STAY CURRENT and install Fedora 23 FIRST

from Google Translate

Hello, I want to ask for assistance in this case
HP ML350 G6 have a server, the BIOS is not UEFI
I've used various sizes of internal and external drives, 2TB, 4TB and work perfectly,

But my two Seagate external drives (USB) from 5TB to use for backup does not work at all on this server
on the other server I have a HP ML110 G6 and Fedora 17 works perfectly
in my workstation, an i7 with Fedora 23 also functions

already updated the BIOS and even SmartArray P410i controller firmware that handles internal disks
do backup with rsync, sometimes when connecting the HD appears many mistakes and does nothing,
in other works but at a ridiculously slow speed
the current format is LUKS + EXT4, but it only has EXT4 problem

Some logs that arise but not in sequence:
Nov 20 15:27:09 server kernel: device-mapper: table: 253: 6: adding target device sdd1 Caused an alignment inconsistency: physical_block_size = 4096, logical_block_size = 512, alignment_offset = 0, start = 33,553,920
use Fedora 23
then in 6 months reinstall with fedora 24
then 6 months after that install fedora 25
-- and so on.....

4 and 5 Tb drives
I take it you are using GPT

Although Fedora says server something with that short of a release cycle is a bad idea on a server. Even worse an idea of production server. Use CentOS.

Usar CentOS.

*google translate, not perfect*
