problem with sound card

I have redhat9.0 with kernel 2.4.20-20.9. I have bought a new mother board with onboard sound card. whe I make a redhat-config.sound from console I have
via82cxxx_audio: Device or resource busy. I think this is related to that both my usb and sound card use the same interrupt.
isint there any way for me to use this card?

Does your sound work when the 'USB Sound whatever' is not plugged in?
Yes, then take a look at http://www.linux-usb.org/USB-guide/x319.html and http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/ for pointers.
