problem with Mandrake 9.1 Install on my old 300mhz celeron pc

I installed Mandrake on my 2.4Ghz Intel P4 (i686) Dell Dimension 8250. And it works fine.

Mandrake 9.1 is for i586 so i guess it should work on my

300Mhz Celeron
224MB Ram
13gb HD
cd-rom - primary boot, then floppy, then IDE
cd-rw
and that's about it....

but it doesn't
I don't know y but it doesn't have the graphical displays when installing... just a lite green screen and it stays there i dunno y.

the cd works on my dell perfectly... it doesn't on my Celeron...
does it have something to do with the bios ? ... anything i should enable / disable... the mandrake site didn't help on this...

thx in advance

Might need to create an older boot floppy disk

the "Figure 3.1. Very First Installation Welcome Screen"
never came up on my Celeron... it skiped that and went into loading stuff :S

but it did show up on my DELL :P

but i did install from the floppy

Here's what happened when i try to install it...

Floppy loads... finishes...
[suppose to show that first install thingy here]
Loads up the files from the cd... finishes...
Stage 2 starts
Probing serial ports
Loads up a checkered B&W screen
[suppose to load up into the graphical installation here]
instead it loads a lite green screen.... mandrake won't answer this question for some reason
