Hello!
Today we got our new server a HP DL280 G3 with a RAID-5 setup on internal Smart Array 5i and one cpu .. soon 2 cpu and 1GB ram.
I'm trying to install Slackware linux 9.1 and it works so far until it comes to lilo when i wan't to write the lilo to MBR but i get errors and it says it can´t so i choose root install wich gives me a´non bootalble partition i gues because when it tries to boot it just comes to this Trying to boot from harddisk (C
and then it stops.
i Have also tried a Redhat 7.1 but i get he same result so know i´m out of ideas. What can i do to get the server to boot and to accept lilo.
I realy like Slackware alot and i´m stubborn so i´m going to get it to work, we have a older Proliant 3000 with Slackware 8.1 and it works great.
I also have problems with these Broadcom chipsets on the Nic's that it won´t find when i runt network from promt.
What to do ????
