problem with audigy 2 and linksys network adapter

i've just recently installed redhat linux 9, and i can't connect to my network and my sound card doesn't work. my soundcard is an audigy 2, not platinum, just ordinary audigy 2. i've looked around on google about the drivers to install and i have found a driver, the EMU10K1 driver...but every time i run the ./configure script it tells me that libsound 0.9 headers are missing or something like that, and then it stops. then, i installed the alsa drivers but that didn't change anything at all, so if anybody can help with that, then thanks very much.

onto my second problem, i have a linksys wireless access point, the BEFW11S4, downstairs connected to a windows computer and up here, where i want to use linux, i'm using the wireless network adapter, the WUSB11 ver2.6, i have tried looking on google and the only thing i've found is a linux-wlan project. i've installed it, i've configured the wlancfg-default file and ssid in the file to my network, i haven't configured anything else in the file. then, the readme tells me to put
Quote:
modprobe prism2_pci [or prism2_usb/prism2_plx]
wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_ifstate ifstate=enable
wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_autojoin ssid=<your APs SSID> authtype=opensystem
ifconfig wlan0 <yourIP> netmask <yourNetmask> broadcast <yourBroadcast>
route add default gw <yourGateway>
into the rc.local file, so i edited all the vars and everything. i don't know what broadcast, if anybody can tell me that, then that would be great. Thanks in advance.

i currently have 4 partitions, 1 for windows, 1 fat32 formatted for sharing files between linux and windows, and 1 ext2 and 1 swap for linux. I'm using redhat 9, by the way. thanks
