Problem installing lin_tape

Hi,

I am installing device driver for TS3100 tape library, I am installing the lin_tape rpm, I am getting the following error. Can somebody help me in fixing this issue.

rpm -ivh lin_tape-1.15.0-1.i386.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:lin_tape ########################################### [100%]
Starting lin_tape: FATAL: Error inserting lin_tape (/lib/modules/2.6.18-92.1.13.el5PAE/kernel/drivers/scsi/lin_tape.ko): Invalid module format

lin_tape loaded

Above it is saying lin_tape is loaded but actually the module is not loaded.

I am using RHEL 5.2 with kernel version of 2.6.18-92.1.13.el5PAE

Suresh.

Are you on an x86 system or a 64 bit system? What kind of hardware?

You're not compiling the drivers above...just installing the RPM.

Have you tried to get an updated RPM, because it seems like you either have a corrupted driver file, or you've got the wrong architecture file (i.e. 32 bit driver for x86, on x64 platform).

Since you've got RHEL5, have you tried to contact RedHat, since you've paid for support? Have you contacted the tape library mfgr., to see if there's an updated file or installation notes?
