Probing Monitor

Hi All,

Is there any way (must be one) to detect my monitor horiz and vert freq. using a script.
The idea is to feed values in kickstart file to get X running in first go.

Regards,
Rajat

If you track down either your monitor manual or the manufacturer's website you should be able to get hold of the rates. You can then input them into your xf86config file.

Hi,
I am writing a script for automated upgrade of linux on groups of machines of varied manufacturers. I am looking for a script that can do the detection job from existing machines running some older version of linux. It is very time consuming process to go and look for specs and feed in each installation.

Regards,
Rajat
