Printing problem with Mandriva 2006
Hi,
I am having printing problem with my Mandriva 2006. With a fresh install of Mandriva 2006 I setup and configured my Canon BJC-4100. After that using with the Print Manager I did a test print, it was successful. But when I open a file and print it...it did not print. I try to check the status of the Print Manager it said that my printing was aborted. How could that happened? Ur advice and suggestions is greatly appreciated. Tata |
I have Canon printers that cause problems like what you are seeing and this is caused by the printer needing to be reset. I have found that removing the USB cable from the printer for a minute, then re-installing it and finally executing the command "/etc/rc.d/init.d/cups restart" at a command prompt resets the printer and allows it to work. Sometimes I have even recycled the power on the printer before issuing the cups restart command.
