printer with strange behevior

I use linux suse 10 and and used for a time a hp 5150 printer, the printer worked fine but after a maybe to large printjob it refuse to [print some print-jobs, for example a simple kmail msg will not be printed but some complex Internet pages wil be printed 100% ok, other pages are partially printed, the part that is printed is OK, for example the opening-page of ebay, the upper part is fine and the bottom part is ok, but the rest of the sheet is not printed, I contacted the HP service but the mailed me " this printer is not designed for Linux " and they could not help me. I reinstalled the complete computer, linux and the printer but the problem was not solved, yast says that there are files in the printer which have to be removed but I don't no a command to look inside the printer to get the printer cleared.

Not a suse user but here are a few ideas.
What driver are you using?
Are you using cups?
Have you been using the hplip driver from HP?

Look here for info on installing with cups.

As I wrote, the printer used to be working fine with suse 10 but got messed up after an to large/strange?? printjob and a complete new install of suse 10 got no results, suse 10 has a designated 5150 printer driver , name? I will try your advised driver and I'm using CUPS, but also CUPS can't install this printer. I tried. There is allways a message; that I have to remove printjobs, but there are no visible printjobs, is there a way to look with software in the computer to look for printjobs in de RAM of the printer

Do you mean you try to edit the cups configuration from http:127.0.0.1:631 and it says its got printjobs left. Why not create a new one. When you install hplip from HP it adds several printers to the cups database. Quick search of mine shows deskjet 5150 in the list.
