Smile Printer Lexmark z1320 doesn't work, Fedora 7

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Hi All,

maybe somebody can help me...

I've got a Lexmark InkJet Printer z1320 connected via USB.
I can't get it to work.

Distribution: Fedora 7 32bit
Kernel: 2.6.22.7-85.fc7 i686

I tried with all the generic drivers listed.
Also with all of the z-series.
I had kind of success with z52, z53 driver.
The success was that something happened... the paper
printed... plain. But it pulls the paper ha ha ha
gutenprint also doesn't work. And openprinting.org wasn't also
no help.

Code:
cat /var/log/messages
Sep 28 17:38:51 machine kernel: usb 1-1: USB disconnect, address 3
Sep 28 17:38:51 machine kernel: drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: usblp0: removed
Sep 28 17:38:55 machine kernel: usb 1-2: USB disconnect, address 4
Does anybody know a compatible driver that may work?

Lexmark's support of linux is almost none existent. I have a Z611 that is just a simple color printer, and it won't work either. The only way I think is using um...ndswrapper or something...I can't remember.

I have a Lexmark Z611 that has worked fine with Fedora 5 thru Fedora 8Test2 there is a How -to in the Fedora Forums to install The Lexmark Z611 using the rpms and cups but you also have to install libstdc++-33 to make it print.

I have a z600 too. It ran fine Fc4-F7. It is retired to a shelf now (cartridges cost more than I gave for the printer when it was new).

I would greatly appreciate it if you could point me to where that is. It gets annoying not having a printer.

I have usually been able to find things like this by simply typing the name in Google. Here one of many hits: http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat....i386.rpm.html

I will have to go back to the Fedora Forum and find it, then I'll post the link, I printed it off the forum back when I was using F5 and just keep it in my notes.
