Printer cropping page

I have an HP 990cxi connected to an Ubuntu 10.04 box. When a page is printed the bottom of the page is cropped. Various settings changed have not help take care of the problem. What would cause this? When I do a print preview the page looks fine.

Thank you for any help or suggestions.

Do you have HPLIP installed?

It's in the Ubuntu repos. Make sure to install the toolkit. If you are using Gnome or KDE, it should appear in the menus. Otherwise, you can start it from the command line with hp-toolkit.

Also, "various settings changed" is a little vague. It would help to know what settings you have changed and what the results, if any, of each change were.

Most welcome.

I've found that, with HP Printers, HPLIP is the bee's knees.
